The Park Theater Trust (TPTT) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to restore and operate one of the East Bay’s most iconic cinemas, and revitalize it into an accessible and inclusive, community-centered cinema, arts and culture hub. After raising $3 million, TPTT acquired the Park Theater property in December 2021 and now seeks the $5 million necessary for the renovation of this single screen cinema into a vibrant venue offering two screens, a community space, commercial kitchen, and rooftop terrace, which will all also be available for rentals. This is a one-time need as once the renovation is complete, TPTT’s for-profit operator, highly regarded CinemaSF, will pay rent directly into a fund to cover future care of the property.
